ISO 50001:2011

Very interesting and useful system. This certification is very often requested when approving some EU incentive funds.

New version of  ISO 50001:2018 was published in August 2018, and may be certified.

Efficient use of energy helps organizations save money by helping to preserve resources and address climate change. ISO 50001 supports organizations in all sectors to use energy more efficiently, through the development of an energy management system (EnMS).

ISO 50001 is based on a management system model that is continually improving and used for other well-known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001. This facilitates organizations to integrate energy management into overall efforts to improve quality and manage the environment.

ISO 50001: 2011 provides a framework for organization requirements to:

Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
Define goals to fulfill this policy
Use data to better understand and make decisions about using energy
Measure results
It looks at how policy works and
Continuously improves energy management.
